We are open for the 2026 Tax Season! We will be preparing tax returns on select Saturdays at the Main Library and Central Square Branch from February 14 to April 11.

Cambridge Public Library VITA does not assist Taxpayers with:

  • Foreign Source Income (Foreign Pensions)

  • Tax Returns for Foreign Students

  • Cryptocurrency Income

  • Form W-7 application for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)

  • Form SS-5 (request for Social Security Number)

  • Income from outside of MA State (Ex. Income from Rhode Island, Maine, Canada, or another State or Country)

  • Self-Employment Income

  • Capital Gains/Losses

Eligibility

You may qualify for free tax assistance if you had less than $70,000 of income in 2025.
